Following closely on from the opening of our new on-site operating theatre, we’re excited to welcome Consultant Ophthalmologist Jack Gormley to the Custom Vision Clinic team.

Jack trained under Mr Ball in Leeds and is now an NHS Consultant in the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. James describes him as the most naturally talented surgeon he has ever trained.

Jack graduated top of his cohort when he qualified from the University of Leeds in 2009. He went on to complete eight further years of specialist training and a prestigious fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery at St Thomas’s Hospital in London.

He now leads the Corneal and Refractive service in York, through which he also partnered with St James Laser Vision in Leeds.

Mr Gormley is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ prestigious Microsurgical Skills Teaching Faculty and enjoys being actively involved in the teaching and training of other surgeons.

Away from his work, Jack enjoys skiing and paragliding! We’re delighted to welcome him to the clinic.
