Introducing Optilight IPL Treatment for Dry Eyes

You no longer have to visit Harley Street to access specialist IPL Dry Eye treatment. We are proud to be offering Optilight IPL Dry Eye Treatment right here in Yorkshire.

If you are still suffering Dry Eye symptoms like irritation and soreness despite using heat masks and topical lubricants, then our advanced IPL treatment can provide relief.

What is Optilight IPL Treatment?

Optilight IPL, a cutting-edge solution for dry eyes, harnesses the power of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to provide relief from the discomfort of dry eye syndrome. This non-invasive treatment specifically targets the Meibomian glands, addressing one of the root causes of dry eyes.

How Does it Work?

At the heart of Optilight IPL is a gentle yet effective process. The pulses of light stimulate the Meibomian glands to produce a greater amount and quality of oil. This aids in improving the quality of the tear film, reducing irritation, and restoring comfort to your eyes.

What Happens During Treatment?

Treatment begins with a Consultation with one of our expert Optometrists. Scroll down to read more about the Consultation further down this page.

After your Consultation, Optilight IPL appointments at our clinic are very straightforward. You'll relax in a comfortable setting as one of our experienced Optometrists guide you through the process.

The treatment is quick and painless, allowing you to get back to your day with minimal disruption.

What results should I expect?

We would typically expect a 2.7x improvement in tear film breakup time and, as the treatment addresses inflammation, which is one of the key underlining factors in dry eye, this combination should reduce or eliminate completely the need for drops post treatment.

It should also increase your suitability for eye surgery.

Using our advanced MS39 scanner before and after we will be able to demonstrate the improvement in the surface of your cornea.

Dry Eye Treatment FAQs

What is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction?

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (one of the root causes of dry eye) is an all too common eye condition affecting around 35% of people in the UK.

It is a real disease that affects patients’ quality of life, not just a nuisance condition.

Embark on your journey to relief with Optilight IPL treatment – a gentle, effective, and safe solution for dry eyes.

How Long Does it Take to Work?

Optilight IPL delivers results without the need for an extended waiting period.

Treatments take place at fortnightly intervals. Many patients experience relief after the first two sessions. Final results are usually reached around four weeks after the fourth treatment.

Will IPL treatment allow me to have laser eye surgery?

Dry eye is one of the main reasons why we might be unable to carry out surgery or laser surgery on someone's eyes.

Dry eye is a serious condition in its own right and we aim first of all to help you with that.

But by improving these symptoms we also hope to be able to help you access other treatments such as laser treatment or other types of eye surgery.

Is IPL treatment included in the price of eye surgery?

No, but we do offer preferential pricing for existing patients or for those who are unable to have surgery because of their dry eye condition.

A walk through the patient experience at your Consultation appointment

When you arrive at our clinic, situated in the stately setting of Bowcliffe Hall, one of our

Next you will be invited in to a consultation with one of our Optometrists, who have decades of ophthalmic and dry eye management experience between them, both in the NHS and private sector At the end of the consultation a diagnosis will be given and a bespoke treatment plan will be recommended.
